Sephiria Characters and Costumes

Choose a Sephiria Costume by playstyle, starting advantage, unlock condition, and the kind of run it supports.

Quick answer

Treat a Costume as the opening rule for a run, not a permanent ranking. Pick the profile that makes your intended weapon action easier, then use artifacts and talents to cover the weakness it leaves behind.

Choose by the problem you want to solve

Your priorityCostume directionWhat to check next
Safer first clearsDefense, guard, or recoveryWhether the weapon can turn safety into room clear.
Fast close-range damageDash, crit, or special attack bonusesExit routes and a second layer of sustain.
Spell and MP playGrimoire, MP, or elemental supportMax MP, regeneration, and a reliable trigger.
Ranged controlMovement, reload, or projectile supportSpace to fire and a plan for melee pressure.
Inventory-focused buildsArtifact, companion, or economy effectsEnough room for the combo to stay active.

The best choice is the one whose benefit appears during normal play. A powerful effect that requires a habit you cannot reproduce is a poor first-run choice.

What the roster page should record

The playable roster includes default and unlockable Costumes, with some entries gaining alternate appearances or changed effects across updates. For every entry, record the name, starting item or effect, practical role, unlock requirement, version checked, and any known drawback.

FieldWhy it matters
Starting profileShows what the first room already supports.
Natural weapon fitPrevents choosing a Costume whose effect fights the weapon route.
Unlock gateTells the player whether the choice is available now.
Failure modeMakes the trade-off visible before a long run.
Version noteStops old unlock text from being treated as current.

Unlock checklist

When a Costume does not appear, check the condition rather than repeating the same run blindly:

  1. Confirm the required character, weapon, chapter, or event is available in the current version.
  2. Check whether the condition asks for a threshold, a specific clear, a number of kills, or an interaction.
  3. Complete the requirement in one uninterrupted run when the wording implies a single adventure.
  4. Return to the Costume or town screen and verify that the unlock was saved.
  5. Record the version and route if the requirement behaves differently from older notes.

Costumes and build planning

Start in Build Planning only after identifying what the Costume contributes. If it supplies defense, the build can spend more rewards on damage or control. If it supplies MP or a trigger, prioritize the weapon enhancement and artifact family that can repeat that effect. If it changes inventory or economy, use Artifacts & Slabs to protect the space that makes the advantage work.

Next step

Compare the six weapon identities in the Weapons Guide, then return here to select the Costume that makes that weapon's safest action easier to repeat.
