Quick answer

When the Elru hide-and-seek objective is active, check these three reported spots in order: southwest of the carrot farm, between the trees above the clothing shop near the upper-right pond, then inside the Ark puzzle room behind the first column from the lower-right.

All three Elru spots

Ask Around note

NPC conversations can point you in the right direction, but the reported route says the Ask Around bars do not need to fill. Find Elru directly to progress the task.

Ingenuity connection

The community Destiny Inscription reference connects Hide-and-Seek with the Ingenuity Talent. If the event is not active in your run, follow the objective text shown in your game before forcing the three locations.

Re-check the carrot farm spot before moving to the next location.
Check between the trees above the clothing shop, near the upper-right pond.
Enter the Ark puzzle room and count from the lower-right column.
